Bodegas y Viñedos Marqués de Vargas is the product of the work of four generations devoted to the production and commercialization of excellent La Rioja wines.
In 1840, Felipe de la Mata, VIII Marqués de Vargas, made the first vine plantations at Hacienda Pradolagar.
In 1989, Pelayo de la Mata, XI Marqués de Vargas, and his brothers fulfilled their father’s dream by building the current winery nestled in the center of their own vineyard, introducing the concept château in the heart of La Rioja Alta.
Today it is a solid family project that produces limited editions of exclusive wines.
